Project Life Week 16…

The first thing I want you to do is click this link and enter my random giveaway…it is for an amazing paper stack that is polaroid themed…so amazing in fact I bought three one for me to use now, one for later, and one for YOU as a giveaway… there are not too many entries so your changes of winning could be pretty good…I used some of the pages in the pack in my layouts this week…

Firstly, I forgot to take the pictures until after the sun went down, so a few are super fuzzy…

First page

is all about The Hunger Games…I read the book a few weeks ago and then went to see the movie last Friday afternoon…I have some strong thoughts about how the book was translated into the movie but over all I thought they did a good job, I am very glad that I read the book first because it helped so much in understanding the depth of the characters…

I incorporated my journaling into an insert I made…

Second page

The first part focuses on the fact that I finally got a case at work…it has been over three weeks…I was going to be forced to begin using my vacation time until we got a case…it has been stressful but the DCS workers here just don’t seem to understand how to use our program and they don’t understand the amazing things we can do with their families…we are doing quite a bit of PR right now to get the truth out there!

Picture of Little Bit and a journal card just saying how much I miss her and how she made me smile and laugh every day…

DSCF1938 (2)

insanely blurry picture…I cut a 3x3 square of the popcorn bag from the matinee I went to and slipped the tick in…

I have to add here that I was very disappointed with the quality of the popcorn I got at the matinee I mean yes there were only four of us at that particular movie but I was really wanting FRESH popcorn and instead I got some ‘eh’ popcorn…

Third page

I got two free tickets to the Women of Faith event in Indianapolis in August because I volunteered to do some distribution work in the arena the afternoon before it starts…I am so excited and asked one of my best-est friends Jeri to come with me! It will be a great weekend away for both of us…we are going to stay in a hotel and just have fun!

DSCF1944

I had an oncologist visit last week…my blood work was almost all normal…Dr. M has no concerns and scheduled me to have a CT scan in three months…

DSCF1953

So here is the thing…as you can see in the middle of the 2nd and 3rd pages, there are pictures of me or my hair (those great pages came from the giveaway pack aren’t they amazing!) and you might say…why? what does that have to do with her week? and I will answer you…EVERYTHING! it has everything to do with my week…I have been fighting with my hair because it is just not doing what it would do so easily three months ago and it has been almost two years since I had my NORMAL, NORMAL hair…so I am currently and good-naturedly  grieving the loss of my amazingly curly and beautiful post-cancer baby hair…and praying that if I can find someone to cut it “JUST RIGHT” I could see it back again! my hair does grow quickly I wonder what would happen if I shaved it off, if it would come in curly or if you have to have deadly toxin’s injected into your blood to make your hair fall out in order to get the benefit of amazing post-chemo hair…hmmmmmm, the things they don’t tell you when you are declared in remission…I crack myself up sometimes Smile

DSCF1951

I am also celebrating that I have finally finished using the Project life model to loosely scrap the years 2009-2011…it feels good to be DONE!

DSCF1955DSCF1968DSCF1956

in an effort to make it easy, I used a sharpie to write onto the page protectors…

DSCF1957DSCF1958

using all the different page protectors…6x12, 8x8, 6x6 ect…

DSCF1959DSCF1960DSCF1961DSCF1962

I had a lot of RANDOM pictures and this page protector was perfect for adding those with no rhyme or reason…

DSCF1963DSCF1964DSCF1966

I also included just a FEW traditional layouts…

I can’t wait to go around and see everybody else's PL pages…Hope you have a great week!!!

Wow! you have been busy! I am adapting to "new hair" too - from weight loss surgery, not cancer, though. 2 years out and I'm still trying to figure out what I can do with it. Good luck to you and congrats on the great news!

Wow! You got a lot done! Love the Hunger Games page! I read the books too and enjoyed the movie.

Congrats on being in remission! My sister has been cancer-free for 7 years. She was blonde her whole life and when her hair grew back, it was a reddish grey. She now "pays" to be blonde!

Have a great week!

Good golly--I can't believe you got that many years done. I WISH I could get that stuff into a book....probably will be able to do it once the kids are grown and not keeping me so busy!

I got tired just reading this post, April - you have been super-productive. Great job on getting all those years documented! Love your recent pages too - love the design, the papers (which I have just ordered whooppee!) and the stories! You rock!

You are just an amazing blessing. (side note: I'm taking my 14-year old out of school early tomorrow to see the Hunger Games) bad parenting? lol

I sincerely hope you have a blessed day! : )

I still have to read the 3rd book in the Hunger Games trilogy, I read the first two in about 1 week and then my life took over.
